The King gave his approval to the closure of North Huish churchyard on 19th July.

Coronavirus remains a risk

It is still possible to catch and spread COVID-19, even if you are fully vaccinated. If you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive test result, the public health advice is still to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

Want to be a parish councillor?

If you are passionate about your local community, North Huish Parish Council needs you. Following the recent death of Councillor David Gabriel, we have a vacancy for one Councillor and we are inviting applications from local people to join our council by co-option.

Parish Clerk Required

The Council is looking for a part time Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer – typically 10-15 hours per month. This role is primarily working from home, with attendance at one monthly meeting in Avonwick. We are looking for a friendly, well-motivated person with attention to detail, ideally with a background in council work and or finance.

Annual Meetings 2024

The Annual Parish Meeting, for the parish not the council, will take place on Tuesday, 7th May from 6.30pm at the Avon Vale Tennis and Croquet Club. Come along to hear reports from parish groups, County, District and Parish councils, the Police and Primrose Trail Group. Questions from electors of the parish are welcome.

This will be followed by the Annual Parish Council Meeting and the monthly Parish Council Meeting.

Roadworks near Sign of the Owl

Devon County Council are carrying out major roadworks to widen the road between Sign of the Owl and Venn Cross. The official diversion does not pass through Avonwick, but there may be extra traffic taking short-cuts. More information on-line.
